24 July 2020 - You’re walking outside but it’s freezing. Your shoulders and neck cringe and your body gets tense. Do you recognise this?

That is exactly what cold is doing to you, but also what a cold drink does to the inside of your body. Which is a natural response to cold: contract, slow down and cringe. Cold food and drinks cause stagnation in your energy path (meridians), its slows the blood circulation and your organs need to work harder to function normally. Your organs optimally function with 37 degrees. You can imagine that every time your body is cooling down because of that cold glass of water that your body uses your energy to heat up again, which is better allocated to digestion and immunity.

So be kind for your own body and your digestive system and replace that ice water with tepid or warm water.
